By definition it is a celebration honouring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds and the influence of fathers in society.
For me it never held any true meaning since i don’t know my dad.Yes i know what he looks like and what he sounds like but beyond that i don’t know the man. When i was five he left me to return to his land (Uganda).Yes i’m part african.Anyways to growing up i didn’t have father figures per say.I would refer to him to be more of a sperm donor than a dad.
Any man can father a child but it takes a real man to be a dad….
Even to this day i still don’t have a real father figure in my life.Mom got married but even that has have ups and down.I’m a adult now so it doesn’t matter to me like it did before, but i know for sure that my daughter wouldn’t go through not knowing what it is like to have a dad in her life. Not saying that her dad an i will always be together for i do not know what the future holds but i sure as hell not gonna keep him put of her life though matter what.
But as a side note to all the father out there doing what they have to in order to make their kids happy or even been a stepfather i salute you.Keep doing the best you can.
Happy father’s day……………..
